Two more Library Editions
...I know, I know, it's getting to be a compulsion. These will definitely be the last two for this series, though, I swear. Actually, only one is a normal Library Edition, at the usual place in Kensington: that's on Friday the 18th November, and tickets are here: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/377199
The other one is a peculiar thing I shall call 'John Finnemore's Emergency Christmas.' You see... the first episode of series 6 is going to go out on the 27th December. So, I thought, it would be a nice opportunity to do a Christmas special, with only Christmas-related sketches. And we'll probably record them all at the last recording, I thought, because it's the closest to Christmas. I didn't check this with Producer Ed, or anything, because whyever would I? And so, I only found out really not very long ago at all that we actually have to deliver the first show of the series to the BBC before the third recording. So, ALL the Christmas sketches have to be in the next recording, on the 19th. And I've only written four. And I've only tried out two in front of an audience. Huh.
So... I am having an extremely odd week, where I am in Extreme Christmassy Lockdown, trying to write as many merry festive sketches as I can in the space of a week. And then, on Sunday - this Sunday, the 16th October - we will do a special extra little try-out of them at the Etcetera Theatre in Camden. So! If you've always wanted to know what happens when a man spends a week in October locked in a room pretending it's Christmas, tickets are here: https://www.ticketea.co.uk/tickets-theatre-john-finnemores-library-edition/ (It's a much smaller venue than the Library - only 42 seats - so if you fancy coming it might be worth booking fairly quickly.)
That's it. Sorry it's so London-centric again. Not much else to plug at the moment - Oh, except I'm on a couple of The Unbelievable Truths that are going out on BBC Radio 4 at the moment. For one of them my subject was Donald Trump. Surprisingly hard to make up lies that outdid the truths...
Merry October Christmas!
John
